One area of the business that continues to expand is our Business Development Team who manage our customer base, supporting them with enquiries and helping them to win business. This involves a lot of contact by phone and email, both proactive and reactive, using a CRM system to record all customer interaction and a separate sales & purchasing software for all quotations and orders.

Business Development Vacancy

To meet growing customer demand, Flowtechnology UK is seeking to expand its existing UK Business Development Team with the addition of a confident, enthusiastic Business Development person who should be capable of working on their own initiative to maximise sales.

Job Summary

Office based, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for building relationships with existing customers. They will be expected to manage the account performance and provide quotes, thus generating sales growth. The successful candidate will ideally possess a knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial products. However, consideration will also be given to candidates who can demonstrate good communication and computer skills, allied to a confident telephone manner. Previous Trade Counter sales experience in the Fluid Power, Plumbing, Hardware or Builders Merchants industries and/or experience in a customer facing role would also be very relevant. There will be no cold calling. Due to our location on an Industrial Estate, own transport is required.

Essential Skills:

  • PC Literate, Microsoft Office in particular Excel & PowerPoint
  • Well organised - company systems must be used to retain all records
  • A confident and professional telephone manner
  • Robust attendance record
  • Ability to retain and recall information after a period of time
  • Self-disciplined with the ability to prioritise
  • Ability to work independently and be a team player
  • Examples of target focused results (for those from a sales background)

Desirable Skills:

  • Industry/Product knowledge
  • Imaginative, in terms of promotions and offers
  • Comfortable with relaying information, monthly meetings etc.
  • Problem solving skills

Salary to reflect experience. Pension scheme, life assurance and profit related bonus after qualifying period. Full training will be given in relation to systems and products.

Working hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 5.00pm on Friday.

Call Centre Operator Vacancy

To meet growing customer demand, Flowtechnology UK is seeking to expand its Call Centre Team at the FTUK head office in Skelmersdale

Working within the Call Centre Team your role will entail:

  • Answering incoming calls and dealing with customer queries.
  • Input orders via telephone/email or fax.
  • Chasing deliveries with couriers.
  • Liaising with other departments to fulfil customer expectations.
  • Provide customers with accurate information relating to lead times, quotations and backorders.
  • Work as part of fast paced and highly accurate team.

Essential Skills:

  • PC Literate, Microsoft Office in particular Excel
  • Well organised
  • A confident and professional telephone manner
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to deal with both colleagues and customers
  • Self-disciplined with the ability to prioritise
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Excellent attendance record

 Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of KEA software would be an advantage, however full training will be given
  • Problem solving skills

Working hours are 12.00pm – 5.00pm Monday to Friday
